Before you travel with us: Summary of the Terms & Conditions

We like to keep things simple and transparent.

  • A deposit secures your place on a journey

  • The balance is due before departure (we’ll confirm timing when you book)

  • If you need to cancel, standard cancellation timeframes apply

  • Travel insurance is essential

  • You’ll need to be comfortable with the level of activity described for your trip

  • Travel plans can change slightly along the way—we’ll always take care to manage this well.

If you have any questions at all, just ask. We’re always happy to talk things through.

Terms & Conditions

Travel Further Limited

1. Booking and payment

To secure your place on a journey, a deposit is required at the time of booking.

The remaining balance is due prior to departure. We’ll confirm the timing when you book, but it is typically 60–90 days before travel.

All prices are in New Zealand dollars unless stated otherwise.

2. If you need to cancel

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your booking, the following applies:

  • More than 60 days before departure: your deposit is non-refundable

  • 30–59 days before departure: 50% of the total trip cost is payable

  • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the trip cost is payable

If you need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible.

3. If we need to cancel

Occasionally, we may need to cancel a trip. This could be due to insufficient numbers, safety considerations, or events outside our control.

If this happens, we will offer you:

  • A full refund, or

  • The option to transfer to another journey

4. Changes to the itinerary

Travel doesn’t always go exactly to plan—and that’s part of what makes it interesting.

We may need to make changes to the itinerary from time to time, including accommodation, activities, or transport.

Where possible, we will provide alternatives of a similar standard.

5. Travel insurance

Travel insurance is essential for all Travel Further journeys.

Your policy should cover:

  • Medical expenses

  • Trip cancellation or interruption

  • Personal belongings

6. Health and fitness

Our journeys are designed to be enjoyable, but they do require a reasonable level of fitness and mobility.

You are responsible for ensuring that you are able to participate in the activities outlined for your trip, and for letting us know about any relevant medical conditions.

This helps us plan appropriately and support you while travelling.

7. Responsibility and risk

Travel is inherently unpredictable, and there are always some risks involved.

While we take care in planning and delivering our journeys, Travel Further is not responsible for:

  • Personal injury or illness (except where required by law)

  • Loss or damage to personal belongings

  • Delays or disruptions outside our control

8. Behaviour

We keep our groups small and considered, which means everyone plays a part.

We expect all travellers to behave respectfully towards others in the group, as well as local people and environments.

If someone’s behaviour significantly impacts the group or safety, we may ask them to leave the trip. In that situation, no refund will be provided.

9. Passports, visas, and entry requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that you have:

  • A valid passport

  • Any required visas

  • Compliance with entry requirements for your destination

10. Photography and marketing

From time to time, we may take photographs or short videos during our journeys to share the experience of Travel Further.

If you would prefer not to be included, just let us know—we will always respect that.

11. Force majeure

We are not responsible for events outside our control. This includes natural disasters, political events, pandemics, or travel restrictions.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
